The Soldiers Table Unveiled
Episode 3 ended with a huge suspense moment and presented the initial group of heroes who will separate from the central cast to begin their own adventure, apart from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team features Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
Considering a large ensemble, it was clear from the beginning that having everyone at one table would be unworkable.
Hence, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, weaving together the individual narratives before branching into three smaller tables: Fighters, Schemers, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
According to the DM, the combat-focused party is for participants who enjoy a typically action-packed fight-heavy gameplay experience where diplomatic options are scarce.
Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer the cleric might seem unsuited, but the events of the third episode make it clear why these particular heroes are best suited for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
First, the team has a clear idea where to head next after a violent opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose death kicked off the story’s plot—used the enemy for his selfish purposes, entering the secret base, assaulting the character, and swiping all the powerful objects to auction.
The traitor then paid off his debts and fled to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the city, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each member has a personal reason to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, wants revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the northern area and cautions that it is a nasty location.
- The strong character and The healer, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to eliminate Teor and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- However, their status as key figures in the powerful family could assist the team enter areas they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, The grateful character swore a eternal obligation to The cleric for his rescue and will now go with him wherever.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are hunted by the rulers that govern the city for a range of causes, making remaining behind too risky:
- Thimble and The character are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and The healer betrayed the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by the family.
This means them little choice but to head to Timmony in pursuit of the antagonist.
